Jill Jaress
by Mandy Royce SullivanJill started acting as a teenager and landed her first job starring in the legendary Aaron Spelling's prime time drama, "The New People" on ABC. Followed by a starring role in the comedy, "Shepard's Flock" for another television icon, Leonard Stern. Then CBS put her under contract for her own show. She's had recurring roles in "Bob Newhart", "Taxi", "Passions", "Barnaby Jones" and "Black Sheep Squadron". Her acting resume lists more than seventy starring, co-starring and featured roles in primetime series and feature films. Two of her favorite film roles are the starring role of Mrs. Twiller in "Book of Love" for New Line Cinema and the role of Gertie in "Sting II" for Universal. But the theater is the arena that truly separates "the men form the boys" or in this case, "an actress from the starlettes". There are no retakes on the stage. You don't have an editor who can sift through dozens of takes and make you look good. You either have it or you don't. Obviously, she has it because to date, she's starred fourteen plays. Most serious actors dream of starring on the West End in London -- she did -- in the musical "Dean". She also appeared on the fringe in Tennessee Williams' "Red Devil Battery Sign" starring Pierce Brosnan. On Broadway, she played Betty in the long running hit "No, No Nanette". Miss Jaress prides herself on being able to take direction quickly and being able to deliver on the first take. She is always prepared, always a little early and always happy to go to work. As a writer, on continually re-writing until it can't get better and as a director on getting it shot well, a little under budget, a little ahead of schedule and running a happy set. As a producer she said, "I'd rather be doing the other three."
