Gloden Globe Nominee TIMOTHY BOTTOMSTimothy Bottoms blasted into the feature film arena in 1971 at the tender age of twenty, and was nominated for a Golden Globe for starring in his first film, "Johnny Got His Gun". He followed it up with starring roles in one hit film after another: "The Last Picture Show", "Love and Pain and the Whole Damn Thing", "The Paper Chase" and sixty-six more films. He also won The Grand Jury Prize in the New York International Independent Film Festival for "Mixed Blessings." On television he's starred in two series including the wacky sit-com "That's My Bush" playing George W. Bush -- which proves the range of characters he can play is virtually limitless. The man just doesn't stop working. He's also guest starred in close to fifty series and has several starring roles on Broadway to his credit.There were over 800 actors submitted to me from 271 agents here in Los Angeles for the role of Louie. Tim was my first choice. I called his manager - a great guy named Mitch Clem, to check his availability and was told he would be in Germany promoting Pound of Flesh, a film he stars in with Malcolm McDowell.Thus began weeks of arduous readings and interviews with wonderful actors -- a couple of Oscar-nominated actors, several Emmy winners. None of them were right. The guy who played Louie had to be warm and funny, edgy and sexy, handsome and silly --- but above all --- he had to be a really good guy -- a guy with a warm heart. I rescheduled the shoot and called Mitch Clem back."When is Tim Bottoms going to be back?" "In two days." "When can I meet him?" "He lives in Northern California." "It's okay. He doesn't have to come down here to audition. All we have to do is read a couple scenes together on the phone. I'll know if he's right." Not only was he right. He was perfect.
